Wellness/Fitness: Graduate assistant will assist the assistant director for wellness and fitness assessment lab in areas including, but not limited to, teaching group exercise classes, personal training, special event management, marketing wellness area, facility/equipment maintenance & inventory, fitness assessments, fitness lab office coverage, and customer service. Preferred qualifications include bachelor’s degree in appropriate field, CPR, AED, and first aid certification; group fitness instructor and personal training certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization (AFAA, ACE, NSCA, ACSM); experience teaching group exercise classes, personal training, and performing fitness assessments; other duties as assigned.
Intramurals: Graduate Assistant will assist the assistant director of intramural sports in the daily coordination and management of a comprehensive intramural sports program, including, but not limited to, assisting in the coordination & organization of leagues, tournaments, and events; officiate a wide range of sports; coordinate special events with others on campus; assist with planning & facilitation of student staff training sessions and meetings; maintenance and inventory of equipment & facilities; field maintenance in general and for specific events/sports; facility management & customer service; Preferred qualifications include bachelor’s degree in appropriate field, CPR, AED, and first aid certification; certification in officiating various sports; other duties as assigned.
Facility Operations: Graduate Assistant will assist the assistant director of facility operations in the daily management of the Northwestern State University Wellness, Recreation, Activity Center (WRAC) including, but not limited to, the recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, discipline, development, and supervising of facility student staff; maintain & make minor repairs to facility & equipment; assist with risk management issues; assist with updating policy/procedure for the WRAC facility; some evening & weekend facility supervision; facility management & customer service; Other duties as assigned.
E-Sports: Graduate Assistant will assist the coordinator of competitive sports in the daily management of NSU E-Sports gaming and facility, including, but not limited to recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating student staff; manage e-sport events and general programming for recreational and competitive players; marketing program and maintaining public accounts on all social media associated with gaming apps for current students and the recruitment of prospective students; hardware and software set-up and tear-down for PC's, consoles, streaming equipment; Maintain accurate statistical records related to participation and inventory; other duties as assigned; Preferred qualifications include bachelor's degree in appropriate field, CPR, AED, and first aid certification.
